Tangled up in webs you’ve woven,
Careful now, those hooves look cloven!
Mixed up, mudled, turned around,
You’ve lost your voice! Lies have you bound.
Strange ramblings in my dreams
Waking me to write, it seems.
I have to get them written down
Or I can’t sleep, which makes me frown.
The words repeat inside my head
Until I’m forced right out of bed.
I toss and turn, the words won’t stop.
I feel as if my head might pop!
I try to drown them with some babble:
“Fiddle faddle! Rabble rabble!”
Just let me sleep! Just let me be!
These stupid words still torment me.
The words flow from my sleepy mind,
Their meaning I have yet to find,
As if a voice was telling me
That something’s there I need to see.
Twisting tumbling through my brain…
Have I gone mad or just insane?
