To Friendship

To Friendship

To Friendship

I’m grateful for the friends I have
and those I have no longer.
For lessons learned and bridges burned
and things that made me stronger.

Some friends will stand right by your side
and petty things will perish
And in those friends we can confide
and keep all that we cherish.

I’m grateful for the times we’ve shared
and moments to remember.
The laughter, tears and memories
glow gently like an ember.

Bridges can be built again.
Hard times can help us grow.
We’ll take the lessons we have learned
and better days we’ll know.

Without my past I wouldn’t be
who I am now today.
With inner strength now guiding me
I know things are okay.

To Friendships Lost

To Friendships Lost

When lies are told and trust is shattered
Friends can lose what really mattered.
Was it false or was it true?
And what now should these two friends do?
Hold on to silence evermore and kick each other out the door?

Or leave a light on in the window?
Count to ten and let the wind blow
All the lies out to the sea?
And let the strength of friendship be
free to mend the broken hearts of two good friends so torn apart?

Should they turn and close the door?
Let friendship fade and care no more?

The answers here elude me.
The solution flees my eyes.
I’m stumped… I’m puzzled… at a loss.
Who wins when friendship dies?
