Let Them Go

People come in and out of your life for many reasons. Some stay forever, some stay a little while, some are gone before you even get to know them. Sometimes you just grow apart. Sometimes people simply decide you are no longer important to them. It could be you. It could be them. It DOESN’T matter. Something simply didn’t click anymore. Whether it was romantic love or the love of friendship, you weren’t meant for each other.

LET THEM GO.

Throughout my life I’ve made the mistake of trying to hold on to people I cared about even though they no longer cared about me too many times and it HURTS A LOT. About 12 years or so ago, I got so depressed over losing someone that my other friends thought I was going to kill myself over it. I wasn’t going to, but that’s how destroyed I felt inside…. over someone who just didn’t care.

IT WASN’T WORTH IT.

So don’t do it. Don’t hold on so tight that you destroy yourself. Just let them go. It will hurt less if you move on instead of holding on. It doesn’t mean you don’t care, it just means you care more about not destroying yourself trying to cling to something that’s gone. You don’t have to forget them, you don’t have to stop caring┬ábut…

DON’T DESTROY YOURSELF.

You need to LIVE your life… and yes… sometimes that means WITHOUT someone you care about. Your heart will never heal if you keep re-opening the wound.
Send them your love and then LET THEM GO.
